Itinerary in brief Stay 01 Arrival At Calicut & Drive to Wayanad ( 2 Hrs ) Wedged between the Western Ghats on the East and the Arabian Sea on the West, the narrow strip of land known as Kerala is a destination of a lifetime On arrival immediate transfer to Wayanad. Wayanad the green paradise is nestled among the mountains of the Western Ghats, forming the border world of the greener part of Kerala. Clean and pristine, enchanting and hypnotizing, this land is filled with history and culture Arrival & check in .Time free for relaxation. Wayanad 02 Wayanad Local sightseeing Today cover local sight seeing Wayanad which covers View points : Pookot Lake – It is a natural fresh water lake, brimmed with ever green mountains. There is an aquarium and a green house here. Boating facilities are also available, Lakkidi – One of the highest locations in Wayanad, Lakkidi also commands a picturesque scenery. The 12 kms.long journey from Adivaram to Lakkidi through ghat road with nine hairpin bends amidst thick forests, is a fascinating experience., Edakkal Caves – it is only ‘a cleft about 96 ft. long and 22 ft. wide in the rock’. It is a fissure made by a corner of rock splitting off from the main body due to some natural causes. The depth of both the cleft and the fissure is 30 ft. What makes it a cave to the ordinary observer is the fact that in the other portion of the large cleft, an enormous rock, weighing several tonns, has fallen forming a roof over a large part of it. Soochippara Waterfall – The stretches of waterfalls ranging at places from 100 to 300 feet height are a treat to the eyes. The pool below provides for water rafting, swimming, bathing, etc. The tree top huts at Soochippara give a unique view of the valleys of the Western Ghats and the glimmering shallow waters of the surrounding spring. Temples & Tea gardens, etc. Wayanad 03 Wayanad – Athirapally ( 4 hrs ) After breakfast drive to Athirapally – The Athirapally Falls is situated on the Chalakudy river, which originates in the upper reaches of the Western Ghats. Arrive & check in. Enjoy water falls & beautiful Landscape. Athirappilly Falls is a part of Chalakudy river and it is approximately 80 feet in height. Optional Activities : Nature Trek, Bird Watching can be enjoyed. Athirapally/ Guruvayur / Trichur 04 Athirapally – Munnar (5 Hrs) After breakfast drive to Munnar. Arrival at Munnar & check in – Munnar meaning “three rivers” is located at the confluence of three mountain streams – Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. This quaint town is located at an altitude of 1600 meters above the sea level away from the heat and buzz of urban life. Evening free for the relaxation OR Eravikulam National Park The 97 sq. km. park is situated in the Devikulam Taluka and is home to the Nilgiri Tahr. On the way to the park Elephant Ride can be enjoyed. Munnar 05 Munnar – Local sightseeing Today cover the local sightseeing of Tea Gardens, Mattupetty Dam/Lake – The Mattupetty lake and dam , just a short distance from the farm, is a very beautiful picnic spot. Boating can be enjoyed here. Kundala Dam/Lake- Kundala is a picturesque town on the way to Top Station. The Golf Course which belongs to Tata Tea Ltd. is located here. The Kundala artificial dam is another attraction Top Station – 1700 Mts above sea level , this is the highest point on the Munnar-Kodaikanal road. Top Station (a viewing point) also offers a panoramic view of neighbouring state of Tamil nadu. Also Echo Point on the way back can be enjoyed.. Also a Tea Estate Visit is a must when in Munnar, it feels as if your eyes can see the widespread of beautiful green colour in & around the vicinity. Back to the hotel after sightseeing. Munnar 06 Munnar – Thekkady (3 Hrs) Morning check out & depart to Thekkady. Arrival & check in to hotel – Discover the veritable essence of Kerala’s well kept wilderness secrets at Thekkady. The landscape here is dotted with tropical forests, exotic spice plantations, tea gardens and beautiful lakes. Evening visit Spice Gardens – The spice plantations of Thekkady are a huge draw for travelers from all over the world. The most abundantly found spice in Thekkady is pepper, but you will also see a variety of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric and curry leaves on the slanting slopes of the spice plantation & some time for spice shopping. In evening enjoy Kathakali Show. Thekkady 07 Thekkady. Today Half day Jeep Safari can be done & then visit to Periyar wild life sanctuary – The Periyar Tiger Reserve at Thekkady is one of the best tiger reserves in India. The place offers a wide array of avenues to quench your thirst for adventure and for enjoying safaris, tiger trails, plantation tours & Spice Garden. Kalaripayattu – Martial Art Show can be enjoyed in evening. Thekkady 08 Thekkady – Alleppey / Kumarakom / Kollam (5/4/7 Hrs) Check out & move for the Elephant Ride & then proceed to Alleppey/Kumarakom. Arrival & check in. Alleppey / Kumarakom comprises of a cluster of petite islands scattered across the emerald backwaters of Vembanad. Backwater cruises along these tranquil waters in a houseboat is a must-must have for any tourist visiting Kerala. Kollam (Quilon)- Between the eight cornered Lake and the Lakshadweep Sea, at the Southern extremity of a network of backwaters lies Kollam beach towards 63 kms of north of Trivandrum. 09 Alleppey / Kumarakom / Kollam – Kovalam / Marari Morning check out & depart for the Kovalam – Kovalam, rated as one of the most spectacular beach paradises in India, lures hordes of tourists from across the globe.
